All About Delhi Air Pollution

Posted on February 19, 2023September 8, 2023 By Buzz Enviro

As we all know this time Delhi AQI is increasing day by day and everyone facing issues with breathing. The polluted air becomes dangerous to your health and causes many respiratory diseases. This time it is essential to take care of your health in this type of scenario. Here are a few ways that help you to save yourself from Delhi air pollution:

Avoid Outdoor Exercise In this scenario you have to avoid outdoor exercise. Any action, including jogging or even taking a stroll, should be avoided while pollution levels are high. This is because spending more time outside exposes you to more pollutants and hazardous air. Because any hard physical activity speeds up breathing, experts advise against exercising outside or jogging. Additionally, one is more likely to consume the pollutant when exercising through a variety of routes, including: –

  • Deeply inhale through your lips.
  • Swallowing particles without first filtering them through the nose, particularly the heavier ones.
  1. Use Face masks while going outdoor

Always use N95 masks whenever you are going outside for any work. Select a mask that can filter out particles smaller than 2.5 microns because they are harmful and dangerous. In India, there are currently no government-defined quality standards for masks, therefore one must rely on American laws. N95 and N99 are the two mask qualities that American standards advise using. The fit is the most important and last thing to take into account. A mask should completely enclose the lips and nose, fitting tightly over the bridge of the nose. If it doesn’t fit properly, the point will be completely lost.

  • Use Air Purifying Indoor Plants

There are many indoor plants that you can use as air purifiers at your home and offices. Plants like Alovera, Rubber, Palm, Spider and Ivy Plants help you to make better air at your home and offices. They contribute to the decrease of indoor contaminants and the purification of indoor air pollution. These indoor plants don’t require frequent watering, direct sunlight, or a sufficient amount of oxygen, making them low maintenance.

  • Use Air Purifier at your home and offices

Air purifier helps you to take a better breath at your home. You can use an air purifier to reduce indoor air pollution.

  • Eat a Healthy amount of Food

Eat a healthy amount of food like vitamin C-rich fruits, magnesium-rich meals and omega-rich foods. When you eat healthy food then it helps you to maintain your immunity and a balanced diet helps you to fight against the negative impact of air pollution. Vitamins-rich food helps you in the healing of the body and prevents the inflammation that is caused by air pollution.

  • Monitor the air Quality Index of Your Location.

When monitoring the air quality index of your location on daily basis then it helps you to remind the air pollution and you have to take prevention against air pollution. You can download the application to monitor the air quality index. The colour-coded projection helps you to find the right value of the air quality index at your nearby locations.

  • Take Steam Bath on a Regular Basis

A steam bath relaxes your airways and helps your body to eliminate hazardous particle substances. Steam is one of the best options you can do to prevent your lungs from air pollution. Inhaling steam with a few drops of eucalyptus oil every day when you come from outside helps you in lung prevention.

  • Check your cleaning and Personal Care

Sometimes your favourite home goods relieve the dangerous VOCs. The American Lung Association advises switching to low- or no-VOC products and avoiding items with fragrances, irritants, or combustible materials. High-VOC products should be kept out of the house or in a storage room when not in use.
